Matt Becker

Dr. Becker received his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University and his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida. While at UF, Matthew was the first PhD student to join the research group of Ed Phelps, where he investigated immunotherapies for treating type 1 diabetes autoimmunity. He was awarded both an NIH T32 interdisciplinary fellowship and an NIH F31 individual fellowship for his work. Matthew is now a postdoctoral scholar with Jessica Weaver at Arizona State University, investigating the immunomodulatory properties of trophoblasts as well as applications for a novel injection molded hydrogel technology.
